Disabled Veterans Information
These are the sections in the Code pertaining to 100% disabled veterans for 2009 and 2012:
The 2009 Legislature created
Sec. 11.131 (a) & (b) which granted full exemption to disabled veterans who were 100% disabled.
The 2011 Legislature amended
Sec. 11.131 to add (c) & (d) which grants the exemption to the disabled veterans surviving spouse.
Sec.11.42 (e) was also added for 2012 which allows veterans who are 100% disabled to apply for the exemption immediately on qualification for the exemption.
The State of Texas also mandates 4 levels of exemption for disabled veteran:

$ 7,500 |
| 50% to 69% - |
$10,000 |
| 70% and over - |
$12,000 * |
* Disabled veterans 65 and over with a rating of at least 10% receive the full $12,000.
